Καὶ περιῆγεν ὅλην τὴν Γαλιλαίαν ὁ Ἰησοῦς, διδάσκων ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς αὐτῶν καὶ κηρύσσων τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τῆς βασιλείας καὶ θεραπεύων πᾶσαν νόσον καὶ πᾶσαν μαλακίαν ἐν τῷ λαῷ.
And Jesus went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of of sickness among the people.
* μαλακίαν = infirmity or bodily weakness.

A Textual Commentary On Matthew 4:23
(a) ο Ἰησοῦς ολην την Γαλιλαιαν – Codex Bezae follows word order in Peshitta ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܒ݁ܟ݂ܽܠܳܗ ܓ݁ܠܺܝܠܳ . Peshitta ܒ݁ܟ݂ܽܠܳܗ ܓ݁ܠܺܝܠܳܐ, which agrees with εν ολη τη Γαλειλαια, the reading of Codex Vaticanus, but Peshitta add ο Ἰησοῦς, which Codex Vaticanus omits.
(b) Εν in Codex Vaticanus and Codex Ephraemi Rescriptus (εν ολη τη Γαλιλαια) – According to Bloomfield, ancient scribes were likely to stumble at and inserted ἐν, and ὅλην τὴν Γαλιλαίαν modified to suit the preposition. The alteration is not necessary, and those proposed sprung from grammarians and critics quite ignorant of the intransitive force here of περιάγω, by ellipsis of ἑαυτὸν understood, and not aware that the accusative is governed of the περὶ in composition. Nor is the construction one unclassical, since it occurs in Demosthenes, p. 1140, περιαγ. τὴν ἐσχατίαν. The idiom (which often occurs elsewhere in N.T.) is noticed in the ancient grammarians, as edited in Hermann’s grammar, who explains περιῆγεν in absolute construction by περιέρχεται, and adduces an example from Liban. περιῆγε πλανώμενος ἐν Ἀθήναις.
